We're all familiar with something called two factor authentication - usually, you'll login to a secure website like your bank. You input your name and password, and then they'll text or e-mail you a code to put into the website. Once you've input the code you were sent, you are granted access to your account.

Two factor authentication, or 2FA, while not being completely fool proof, tremendously improves the security of your accounts, digital data, and computers. At SmartPath Technologies, we're beginning to role out two factor authentication to all of our clients as a security step when they login to their computers.

A lot of people do not understand how two factor authentication works to enable logging into your PC - so we've recorded this quick video that shows you exactly how it works and what our clients can be expecting.

Two factor authentication is something that every small and midsize business owner should consider - both for all of their online accounts that offer it (and most do...even down to Amazon!) but also for their physical technology assets such as their computers and laptops. It's easy, and it is just another step in the ever-evolving world of thwarting criminals from accessing your clients data, holding it for ransom, and using it against you and your clients maliciously.

Our clients will be seeing this soon, and if you aren't our client, please give us a call - day or night - and get on the right path towards properly securing your business.
